Get to Know Stacy
How did you get involved in rugby?
"I saw the sign for 'No Experience Necessary' at our College Activities Fair during my first week of school and signed up."
Other interests:
"Waterskiing, Wakeboarding, Hiking, Traveling, Card Games"
Favorite rugby memory:
"At
UVA - it was the entire weekend of Sweet 16's my senior year - on the field we qualified for the Final Four, but off the field we had such a great time (the Flo sign, Miss Orlando, shaving our coaches heads, Disney World, having my parents there). At
NOVA it was our team's 20 min goal line stand in the Finals of the MARFU Championship in Spring 2005. Every single player knew what she wanted and wanted it just as much as the player standing next to her. It was an awesome feeling. We eventually won in overtime and qualified for Sweet 16s for the first time in our club's history."
Rugby mentors/inspirations:
"
Beth Black> the only person I know who can run a 10K, drive 1+ hrs, and then step on the field and still have the most energy of any person out there."
Coaching influences:
"The NOVA Seven's Program, which has brought such a committed passion to the sport of 7's, has greatly influenced my knowledge and enjoyment of 7's. I'm super lucky to be able to play next to a group of such talented players that are also my friends, every summer."
Favorite Motto/Saying:
"And will you succeed? Yes, you will indeed! 98 and 3/4th percent guaranteed."
