3.30.07 - Greetings to you all,
Having been in your position before, I'm sure there's a chance you're running a few coulda-woulda-shoulda's through your heads. But I want you to know that the players back home, the ones you are representing, are VERY proud of your performance in the face of adversity -- I have no doubt you all gave everything you had to preparing for and playing at this tournament. Come home with your chins up!
See you soon,

3.29.07 - Having coached women's high school basketball and soccer for over twenty-five years, I understand the determination, dedication and desire it takes to be a competitive athlete. The women on this team are the epitome of all that is great about athletics and the value of sports. When I was a young man in the 1960's, we believed that contact sports, even basketball, were too much for women to endure. Now we know that belief was based on pure ignorance and bias. This rugby team proves, once again, that women are equal to men at every level. In fact, the argument can be made that American women are the best team athletes in the world. I hope you bring back the championship, but that is not really important. What is important is that you are giving your all to represent yourself, your team, your family, your friends and your country. You are making us all proud. Good luck and "Go USA!"

I coached one of you for many years in basketball and soccer. I will not tell you her name, but she played hard. She played hurt. She could never sit still. She was a pain in the butt when we lost. She was a leader. She once made me so mad I kicked her off the soccer team for one day because she was not paying attention in practice. She always played to win. She was the best all-around athlete I ever coached. Who was she?

Coach Kearney

3.29.07 - Just wanted to say hello to all of you. I cannot say how proud I am of all of you, and my BIG SIS, for accomplishing your goals thus far. Keep up the good work and cherish the time together, as I know that some will have to part different ways upon returning stateside. Yancy I am soooo proud of and for you, you have been an inspiration for all of us. My students ask if there is any news from you and the team. They want to know how you are doing.
Keep it up. Jules ( the one in El Paso).
